In-Person Lessons

Tradition: You, Me, and Your Instrument of Choice

In-person lessons are the norm when you think of music lessons. Along these lines, one-on-one lessons are also normal. I offer these! I have also taught group lessons (ex: duos/ duets, chamber groups, group piano, etc.), so please ask for more information. Here's some general information about what I offer:

What Ages?

Most of my lessons are beginner piano lessons for kids, so I'm very comfortable teaching that range, but I'm equally comfortable with all ages because of my experience.I have taught/ am teaching students between the ages of 3 and 70 (kids, teens, and adults), so I'm sure I can teach you/ your child!

What Skill Levels?

Most students I teach are beginners, but I have also taught the intermediate and advanced levels on multiple instruments. As my bio states I was a Graduate Student Instructor and am an Adjunct Professor, so I have taught/ am teaching at the collegiate level. I have also helped students get into All-Area and All-State programs, and even coached towards successful auditions that led to acceptance into college music programs. Additionally, I have worked with high school students learning piano for their capstone projects which includes a performance and theory component.

What Styles?

I'm able to teach a variety of styles (classical, jazz, and sacred to name a few), but I strongly suggest the traditional, classical approach. This approach provides you the fundamentals and framework you need to branch out. Also, the music you want to play probably traces some of its roots to classical music, so there are common threads and a wealth of repertoire to keep you interested until you're able to move on!

What Goals?

The goals of my students have covered the entire spectrum. While I have worked with students in professional settings, some of my students want to pick up music as a hobby and I customize lessons to give you the tools you need to play the music you want.

How much does it cost?

My standard rates are as follows:

  • 30-minutes for $30

  • 45-minutes for $45

  • 60-minutes for $60

Anything Else?

To keep students on track, I can provide written comments, practice videos, or text/ email updates to keep you in the loop. Just ask!
